Video Producer & Editor
Terms of Employment: Full-Time, At Will, Salaried, Exempt
Reports to: Executive Vice President
Position Location: Remote US-based; Austin, TX preferred
Animal Equality is seeking a senior, highly self-sufficient Video Producer & Editor to manage the full production lifecycle of video content, from recording through final delivery. This is a hands-on individual contributor role requiring strong autonomy, speed, and reliability. The person in this role is expected to record, edit, finish, and deliver high-quality, distribution-ready video assets.
Travel is required several times per year, both within the United States and internationally.
Responsibilities
- Independently produce end-to-end video content, including planning, field recording, editing, color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics, and final export.
- Deliver high-quality, distribution-ready videos with fast turnaround times across multiple formats and platforms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define objectives, timelines, and deliverables, and adapt efficiently to feedback.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining clear organization, version control, and documentation.
- Maintain structured archives, secure backups, and proper care of organization-provided audiovisual equipment.
- Coordinate with external vendors or collaborators when needed.
- Stay current with audiovisual trends and propose improvements to workflows and creative processes.
- Work professionally with graphic and sensitive footage depicting animal cruelty.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and professional collaboration across the organization.
- Stay informed about animal protection work and relevant developments in animal agriculture.
Requirements
- A commitment to Animal Equality’s vision, mission, strategy and culture.
- Senior-level experience in video production, editing, and post-production, with a demonstrated ability to independently deliver finished, distribution-ready video assets.
- Demo reel or portfolio demonstrating relevant video production and post-production work is required.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong experience with ENG-style recording and field production.
- Proven ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
- Strong understanding of professional video production equipment and post-production workflows.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work proactively and independently in a fully remote environment.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel several times per year.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
- Ability to receive, process, and implement feedback constructively.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
- Comfort working with graphic and emotionally challenging content.
- Spoken and written Spanish is a plus.
- Familiarity with animal protection work and awareness of the animal agriculture industry.
- A valid passport, or the ability to acquire one
- Candidates must be able to sit for extended periods in front of a screen, as well as work on locations, which might require standing for extended periods of time, along with carrying and operating heavy equipment.
Salary and Benefits:
$70,000 - 80,000 annually. Benefits package includes 100% employer-covered health, dental, vision insurance, paid child care leave, a generous vacation package, paid sick time, 1 paid volunteer day per year, 2 floating holidays, monthly work-from-home internet stipend, and 401(k) with partial employer match.

Work Hours and Overtime:
This is a full-time, salaried, overtime-exempt position. Standard work hours are expected to be approximately forty (40) hours per week. Actual schedules may vary based on operational needs.
