Philanthropy Coordinator

Summary:

The Philanthropy Coordinator works closely with the Director of Philanthropy to implement and oversee Animal Equality’s individual and foundation fundraising efforts. The Philanthropy Coordinator is responsible for the proactive management and activities of Animal Equality’s overall prospect portfolio, with a focus on monthly sustainers, to ensure alignment in fundraising strategies and goals. This position works closely and collaboratively with Animal Equality’s leadership and the Philanthropy team to grow their individual giving portfolio. 

General Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate all aspects of monthly donor cultivation, retention, and stewardship, including monthly donor correspondence.
    Optimize individual portfolios through a strategic focus on engagement plans and coordinate deliverables throughout the fundraising cycle.
  • Complete prospective donor research and briefing materials for donor calls and visits.
  • Develop donor strategies, monitor timely movement through the pipeline, and confirm next steps in order to convert prospects to donors.
  • Assist in the preparation of customized organizational achievement reports.
  • Maintain all donor and prospect records in Salesforce database, including ongoing updates to constituent records.
  • Build and maintain Salesforce dashboards to provide real-time information to organizational leadership.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of donor cultivation and recognition events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • A minimum of two years of development/philanthropy experience, preferably at a nonprofit advocacy organization or in the field of fundraising, marketing, or communications. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • A high degree of computer literacy. 
  • Experience with fundraising CRM, preferably Salesforce NPSP. 
  • Experience with email marketing software, preferably EveryAction.
  • Ability to maintain donor files and routinely handle confidential donor information.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, problem-solve, and manage multiple tasks concurrently. 
  • Must have an upbeat positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and effective communication that will attract new supporters to invest in Animal Equality’s mission 
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with others in a team-oriented work environment. 
  • Professional appearance and adherence to a vegan lifestyle. 
  • Commitment to the objectives of Animal Equality. 

Salary and Benefits:

$58K-$62K. Salary threshold for exempt employees will be adjusted for varying state and city requirements if applicable. Benefits package includes 100% employer-covered health, dental, vision insurance, paid child care leave, a generous vacation package, paid sick time, 1 paid volunteer day per year, 2 floating holidays, and 401(k) with partial employer match.
